Start Saving Now For Prom Night!

When you’re in high school, prom is hugely important. The high school prom is the biggest event of the school social year especially for seniors. It’s easy to get caught up in the "prom is a major once-in-a-lifetime event" mindset.

It’s probably true that prom is the one of the most meaningful events of high school for some people and can be an incredible milestone in a teen’s life. As one of the first formal social event in the life of a teenager, the prom is considered an important rite of passage to adulthood.

If you think prom is just a three-hour dance, you are sadly mistaken. If you are the parent of a high school student, you already know prom is expensive. The prom is supposed to be a time that you share with all your friends. But it’s almost obligatory to go for the designer gowns, tuxedo, corsages, limos, you name it. All this adds up to big money. Prom is always a big undertaking, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

If you want to have the designer prom dress and the whole works, realize that it can be expensive. Do your part now and start saving for it. Parents can only do what they can afford, so come up with a budget that everyone can live with and stick to it. At the end of prom night, you’ll have beautiful memories no matter how much or little you spend!

Spending upwards of a $2,000-$3,000 on prom is becoming the norm throughout the United States. You need to start saving early, because going to prom is not cheap. Once an invitation to prom is given and accepted, it becomes a financial commitment.
